Position Title: Landfill Equipment Operator
Role Type: Temporary / Local Position (Camp provided if not local/Non-FIFO)
Location: Syncrude Basemine, Fort McMurray, Alberta
Work Schedule: 6 on/1 off; 12-hour day shifts

What I will be doing?
Operate various equipment including; Excavator, Wheel Loader, Bulldozer and Compactor.
Complete thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections on heavy equipment.
Inspect and clear equipment of debris, mud, and waste that may get stuck in the tracks, grousers, wheels and rollers.
Receive and sort metal and wood for disposal, prepare for removal from landfill.
Sorting of various materials, road/pad repairs, and clearing equipment of debris.
Safely operate designated equipment to optimize landfill capacity and efficiency of the site.
Ensure that housekeeping and cleanliness of worksite and equipment are sustained.
Communicate with leadership any delays, potential hazards, accidents, equipment breakdowns and/or maintenance concerns.
Perform various other duties as assigned.
What does Acden need from me?
Valid Class Five (5) License is required.
Three (3) or more years experience operating Excavator, and Loader is required.
Driver’s Abstract demonstrating a pattern of safe and compliant driving behavior is required.
Ability to obtain clearance on drug, alcohol, hearing, and physical abilities pre-employment testing is required; this role is designated as safety sensitive.
Common Safety Orientation (CSO) or equivalent (or ability to obtain pre-hire) is required.
Ability to work efficiently both independently and within a team environment is required.
What are the "nice to haves"?
Class Three (3) Licence with Air Brake Endorsement is an asset.
Three (3) or more years experience operating Bulldozer, and Compactor is an asset.
Alberta Landfill Operator Certification through Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) is an asset.
Experience in landfill / recycling operations is an asset.
