Position/Term: Temporary / Local Position (Non-Camp/Non-FIFO)
Location: Suncor MacKay River, Fort McMurray, Alberta
Work Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off; 10-hour day shifts
Position Start Date: As soon as possible
Position End Date: October 31, 2026

What I will be doing?
Operate various equipment including; Excavator, Wheel Loader, Bulldozer and Compactor.
Complete thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections on heavy equipment; promptly document and report any deficiencies to immediate supervisor.
Inspect and clear equipment of debris, mud, and waste that may get stuck in the tracks, grousers, wheels and rollers.
Complete leachate level measurements and underdrain sampling.
Collect and deliver water samples, utilize water pump, and relocate pump and 25lb hoses to various high-level water areas.
Perform area maintenance duties such as but not limited to; minor repairs to roads/pads, snow removal and litter pick up.
Operate skid steer and zoom boom to reposition and relocate waste bins.
Receive and sort metal and wood for disposal, prepare for removal from landfill.
Perform various other duties as assigned.
What does Acden need from me?
Valid Class Five (5) Driver's License is required.
Must have three (3) or more years of experience operating excavator and loader.
Driver’s Abstract demonstrating a pattern of safe and compliant driving behavior is required.
Valid Common Safety Orientation (CSO); or OSSA BSO Certificate, or a combination of CSTS-09 and OSSA Regional certificates are required.
Eligibility to work at all Oil Sand sites within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo is required.
Successfully obtain clearance on mandatory pre-employment drug, alcohol, hearing and physical abilities testing is required; this role is designated as safety-sensitive.
Safety driven attitude is required.
Physically fit to perform all necessary duties of the job.
What are the "nice to haves"?
Class Three (3) Licence with Air Brake Endorsement is an asset.
Experience operating bulldozer and compactor is considered an asset.
Previous experience in landfill/recycling operations is an asset.
SWANA Landfill Operation Basics (LOB) Certification is an asset.
