Position/Term: Permanent Local Position (Non-Camp/Non-FIFO)
Location: Taiganova - Acden HQ, Fort McMurray, Alberta
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday; 8-hour day shifts

What I will be doing?
- Setting up equipment and other safety-related training plans and facilitating this training for new hires and existing employees.
- Instructing various classroom courses.
- Tracking, documenting, and reporting on various forms and systems.
- Conducting drivers evaluations.
- Working with a team of two other HSE&Q Training & Development Advisors to meet the training needs for the organizations.
- Travelling as needed to assist with various Acden location training requirements.
- Participating in on-call rotation for 24/7 safety hotline.
- Conducting a wide variety of general corporate HSE&Q advisory duties (adjectives include: assist, research, deliver, prepare, attend, develop, etc - more detail will be available for shortlisted candidates)
What does Acden need from me?
- Big ticket required items:
- Valid Class Three (3) Driver's Licence.
- Five (5) years' experience operating roll off, lugger, and front load trucks.
- Five (5) years' experience operating various heavy equipment, e.g. loader, skid steer, excavator.
- Three (3) years' experience in a full-time dedicated HSE&Q role.
- Other requirements:
- Ability to demonstrate a personal commitment and positive attitude
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail, with clear and precise verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deliverable timelines.
What are the "nice to haves"?
- Preference will be given to applicants with:
- Certification in various end user training courses (Forklift, Overhead Crane, Fall Protection etc.)
- The following are considered assets for anyone applying:
- Valid Class One (1) Licence.
- Certification and designation in HSE&Q related field (e.g. NCSO, CRSP, CHSC, Train the Trainer)
- General understanding of adult education principles.
- Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems; including but not limited to: ISO 9001:2015 and 14001:2015
- Supervisory experience
- Alberta Landfill Operator Certification
