Position: Permanent Local Position. Ideal candidate must be based in Fort McMurray, Alberta (Non-Camp/Non-FIFO)
Location: Taiganova Corporate Office, Fort McMurray, Alberta
Work Schedule: 5 days on, 2 days off; 8-hour day shifts

What I will be doing?
- Provide daily operational support of computers and network components: including hardware, software and troubleshooting.
- Install, configure, operate and maintain systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure.
- Plan and perform documentation, inventory assessment, network assessment, and other various procedures.
- Perform testing and regular servicing of equipment hardware and software.
- Ensure IT interactions are followed through to resolution.
- Maintain appropriate records and documentation.
- Influence present and future services by keeping apprised of technological trends.
- Communicate and collaborate with IT teammates to proactively solve problems.
- Enter issues/tasks assigned in Issue Tracking System and keep status up to date.
- Share knowledge of areas of expertise with other members of the team.
What does Acden need from me?
We don't mess around in IT! Here are the critical components that we require when adding a team member to our current team infrastructure:
- Possess and/or be working towards several of the following accreditations:
- CompTIA-A+, Network+, Security+, Server+, Storage+.
- Cisco - CCNA, CCNP, CCENT, CCIE.
- ITIL - Foundation, Practitioner, Intermediate, Master.
- Microsoft - MTA, MOS, MCSA, MCSE.
- VMWare -VCA, VCP. HyperV and AWS equivalents. HPE and Oracle equivalents.
- (ISC)2 - SSCP, CAP, CISSP.
- ISACA - CSX, CISA, CISM, CRISC.
- Brocade- BCP in: Ethernet, SAN, Storage (IP or Mainframe).
- Apple - ACSP, ACTC, ACPT.
- Other equivalent IT certifications and accreditations.
- 2 years' experience in both a Hardware and Software support environment or a break/fix environment.
- Extensive hardware and software diagnostics and troubleshooting experience.
- Extensive mobility device setup and management experience.
- An understanding of network wiring and TCP/IP with the ability to use such maintain a functional network.
- Fluency in Microsoft 365 and Microsoft 365 support.
- Ability and willingness to pursue education and training in all areas of Information Technology.
- Must possess valid Class 5 Operator's License.
- Driver's abstract must demonstrate a pattern of safe driving behaviour.
- Maintain eligibility to work on all client sites as required.
- Ideal candidate must be based in Fort McMurray, Alberta.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy is critical.
- Ability to work efficiently on simultaneous assignments under tight deadlines.
- Ability to collect arid analyze data, draw conclusions, and make actionable recommendations.
What are the "nice to haves"?
- Networking knowledge and experience in the following will be an asset:
- Virtual Private Networks (VPN).
- Virtual Local Area Networks (VLAN).
- Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
- Wireless Networks.
- Network printing and devices.
- Domain Networking and Domain Controllers.
- Experience using virtualization technologies will be considered a strong asset.
- Experience with structured cabling installation will be considered a strong asset.
