Position/Term: Permanent/(Camp/FIFO)
Location: IOL Kearl, Fort McMurray, Alberta
Work Schedule: 14 days on, 14 days off; 12-hour day shifts

What I will be doing?
- Operate a Class Three (3) flat deck truck with Moffett forklift, skid steer and forklift as required.
- Enter and monitor inventory product quantities reporting to the Supervisor as needed.
- Respond to hazardous waste spill recoveries as directed by Supervision or designate.
- Bulk and properly separate hazardous waste based on compatibility/reactivity and test incoming products to identify potential hazards.
- Develop and maintain accurate Safety Data Sheets.
- Collect and exchange various hazardous waste containers around site.
- Operate filter crusher and bulb crusher as assigned.
- Create hazardous waste container labels as per Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHIMIS) standards.
- Prepare containers for shipment as per Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulation standards.
- Complete Near Miss cards, Nobody Gets Hurt cards, and Peer to Peer observations as required and submit to leadership and/or Supervisor.
- Operate vehicles in mine environment as required once signed off.
- Maintain the marshalling yard as directed by supervision.
- Gather and empty sanitary and industrial waste receptacles and recycled materials.
- Other duties as assigned that fulfill the demands of the role.
What does Acden need from me?
- Valid Class Three (3) Driver’s License with airbrake endorsement is required.
- A clean driver’s abstract is required to demonstrate a pattern of safe and compliant driving behaviour.
- Successfully completing a driver’s evaluation on a manual 18-speed Class Three (3) vehicle is required.
- Valid Common Safety Orientation (CSO); or OSSA BSO Certificate, or a combination of CSTS-09 and OSSA Regional certificates are required.
- Eligibility to work at all Oil Sand sites within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo is required.
- Successfully obtain clearance on mandatory pre-employment drug, alcohol, hearing and physical abilities testing is required; this role is designated as safety-sensitive.
- Inventory data entry and maintenance experience is required.
- Have a “safety-first” attitude, and attention to detail is required.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Physically fit to perform all necessary duties of the job.
What are the "nice to haves"?
- HAZWOPER Technician course is an asset.
- Chemical field-testing experience is an asset.
- Forklift and/or Skid steer Certifications will be considered an asset.
- Post-secondary education in the sciences is an asset.
- Hazardous waste experience is preferred.
