Term: Temporary (Summer Student)/ Local Position (Non-Camp/Non-FIFO)
Location: Acden Taiganova Headquarters, Fort McMurray, Alberta
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-hour day shifts; however the adaptability to work flexible hours for special events is required.

What I will be doing?
Our Events & Engagement summer student takes on a variety of tasks to assist with the development and planning of events and has a critical role in the planning and execution of our annual Acden Show and Shine. This role is dynamic and hands on, including coordinating logistics, sponsorship fulfillment and collaborating on innovative ideas for employee engagement activities. Working alongside our Community Relations Advisor and Business Development team, you will also be part of coordinating marketing and communications campaigns for internal and external audiences.
You may also be asked to attend a variety of functions, events, conferences as a representative of Acden.
What does Acden need from me?
- Currently enrolled in a Post-Secondary program; studying Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Hospitality, Event Management, or related field is preferred.
- Must be under 30 years of age and at minimum be a permanent resident per Canada Summer Job requirement.
- Class 5 driver’s licence and a five-year driving abstract that demonstrates a pattern of safe driving behaviour is required.
- Must have a reliable vehicle for event and transportation purposes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suites (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required.
- An understanding of how to professionally and respectively communicate and collaborate to successfully execute a project and/or event as a team is required.
- Successful clearance of comprehensive drug, alcohol, and audiometric testing is required.
What are the "nice to haves"?
- Knowledge and/or training completed in Indigenous awareness is an asset.
- An ambitious nature with highly developed administrative and organizational skills is an asset.
