Position/Term: Permanent/ Local Position (Non-Camp/Non-FIFO)
Location: Saprae Creek Facility, Fort McMurray, Alberta
Work Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off; 12-hour day shifts

What will I be doing?
- Operate various equipment including excavator, wheel loader, bulldozer and compactor in a safe and proficient manner.
- Operate skid steers and zoom booms to reposition or relocate waste bins.
- Operate truck mounted hydraulic hoisting devices.
- Operate Lugger, roll off, and Frontload vehicles as required.
- Complete multiple short trips per day with frequent loading and unloading.
- Safely maneuver vehicles in congested areas.
- Inspect bins, report on condition and functionality or defects.
- Complete thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections on heavy equipment; promptly document and report any deficiencies to immediate supervisor.
- Inspect and clear equipment of debris, mud, and waste that may get stuck in the tracks, grousers, wheels and rollers.
- Ensure that housekeeping and cleanliness of worksite and equipment are sustained.
- Perform area maintenance duties such as but not limited to; minor repairs to roads and dumping ground pads, snow removal and litter pick up.
- Communicate any delays, potential hazards, incidents, near misses, accidents, equipment breakdowns and maintenance concerns promptly with leadership.
- Collect and deliver water samples, utilize water pump, and relocate pump hoses to various high-level water areas.
What does Acden need from me?
- Valid Class Three (3) License with air brake endorsement is required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of commercial driving experience is required.
- Must have three (3) or more years of experience operating excavator and loader.
- Ability to obtain Alberta Landfill Operator Certification through Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) within first year of hire.
- Driver’s Abstract demonstrating a pattern of safe and compliant driving behavior is required.
- Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail is required.
- Safety driven attitude is required.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and within a team environment is required.
- Must be eligible to work at any site within the Wood Buffalo region with no site bans.
What are the "nice to haves"?
- Experience operating a bulldozer and/or compactor is considered an asset.
- Class One (1) License is considered an asset.
