Position/Term: Temporary / Local Position (Non-Camp/Non-FIFO)
Location: Syncrude, Fort McMurray, Alberta
Work Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off; 12-hour day shifts

What I will be doing?
- Operate various equipment such as Excavator, Wheel Loader, Bulldozer and Compactor in a safe and proficient manner.
- Complete thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections on heavy equipment; promptly document and report deficiencies to immediate Supervisor.
- Complete leachate level measurements and underdrain sampling; collect and deliver water samples, utilize water pump and relocate pump and 25lb hoses to various high-level water areas.
- Perform area maintenance duties such as but not limited to; minor repairs to roads/pads, snow removal and litter pick up.
- Operate Skid Steer and Zoom Boom to reposition and relocate waste bins.
- Receive and sort metal and wood for disposal, prepare for removal from landfill.
- Ensure that housekeeping and cleanliness of worksite and equipment are sustained.
What does Acden need from me?
- Minimum Valid Class Five (5) License is required.
- Three (3) years’ experience operating heavy equipment such as Loader, Bulldozer, Compactor, and Excavator is required.
- If selected for an interview, you are required to submit a 5-year drivers’ abstract that is not more than 30 days old.
- Ability to successfully complete our comprehensive pre-employment Drug, Alcohol, Hearing, Visual and Physical Abilities Testing is required.
- Valid Common Safety Orientation (CSO) or equivalent is required.
- Must be eligible to acquire access to all Acden client sites as required by the position.
- Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and “safety-first” attitude is required.
- Ability to work cohesively in a team environment and independently is required.
What are the "nice to haves"?
- Class 3 license with airbrake endorsement is considered an asset.
- Previous experience in landfill/recycling operations is an asset.
- Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) Certificate in Landfill Operation Basics are considered an asset.
