Position Title: HSE&Q Training & Development Advisor
Role Type: Permanent/ Local Position (Non-Camp/Non-FIFO)
Location: Taiganova - Acden HQ, Fort McMurray, Alberta
Work Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off; 12-hour day shifts

What I will be doing?
Deliver and coordinate HSE&Q training programs, field coaching, and classroom instruction (TDG, WHMIS, DDC, Lift Truck, etc.).
Conduct driver and equipment operator evaluations, onboarding, mentoring, and competency assessments.
Support safety meetings, toolbox talks, incident investigations, corrective actions, and regulatory compliance.
Develop and maintain training programs, Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs), Safe Work Practices (SWPs), and Safe Job Procedures (SJPs).
Track training records, manage action items through HSE&Q systems, and assist supervisors with implementation and follow-up.
Provide site coverage, safety hotline support, and rapid response to HSE&Q-related issues.Lead the Inexperienced Driver Program, including coaching, training, performance management, and development.
Assess new equipment training requirements and create supporting safety documentation and procedures.
What does Acden need from me?
Valid Alberta Class One (1)/Class Three (3) driver’s license is required.
Three (3) years of full-time experience in an HSE&Q dedicated role is required.
Five (5) years’ experience operating roll off, lugger and frontload trucks is required.
Five (5) years’ experience operating various heavy equipment (Loader/Excavator/Skid steer etc.) is required.
Ability to demonstrate a personal commitment and positive attitude is required
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail, with clear and precise verbal communication skills, and ability to manage multiple high-level responsibilities and tasks is required.
What are the "nice to haves"?
Certification and designation in HSE&Q related field (e.g. NCSO, CRSP, CHSC, Train the Trainer) is an asset.
Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems; including but not limited to: ISO 9001:2015 and 14001:2015 is an asset.
Supervisory experience is an asset.
Alberta Landfill Operator Certification is an asset.
