Position: Permanent/ Local Position (Non-Camp/Non-FIFO)
Location: Saprae Creek Machining Shop Facility, Fort McMurray, Alberta
Work Schedule: 5 days on, 2 days off; 8-hour day shifts

What I will be doing?
Oversee and assist with organizing work activities within the Saprae Machine Shop Facility.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products.
Collaborate with the Estimator to verify the accuracy of quotes and ensure a clear understanding of job specifications.
Operate machine tools such as: Horizontal boring mill, conventional type mill, lathes, surface grinder, radical drill and portable align boring equipment.
Operate metal shaping machines, such as brakes, shears and other metal straightening and bending machines.
Repair worn parts of metal products.
Attend toolbox talks and safety meetings as scheduled.
Actively participate in the shop safety program and maintain strict adherence to OH&S guidelines.
Duties as they may arise that would fulfill the mandate of providing excellent service to the client.
What does Acden need from me?
Alberta Certified Journeyperson or Interprovincial Red Seal in Machinist trade is required.
Must have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a leadership role.
A valid class 5 Driver's Licence is required.
Must be able to work from heights or confined spaces.
Must have developed organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Must have excellent problem solving and mathematical calculation skills.
Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to work harmoniously with a diverse workforce are required.
Must have the ability to concentrate on detailed work for long periods, including strong vision and hand-eye coordination.
Must be physically fit to perform all duties of the position including extensive walking, climbing, and awkward positions as well as carrying heavy materials (5-50 lbs.), while ensuring Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used as required.
